Let's start over :)
So, clearly this blog was originally started at a time when I was going through it. Hey, no shame.
But this girl has done some growing since then.
So here we are:
- New beginning--with one little commemorative post from then because you've got to remember where you've been to move forward
- New introductions (keep reading, folks)
- New look for the blog--it's crazy simple, and what you see is what you get (buckle up--we're going to get real here)
Basically, I have no idea if anyone will read this, find value in it, etc. But I think there's something to be said for a confused, ambitious girl in her early 20's trying to figure out the world a little bit. At least that's what most romantic comedies have taught me up until this point ;)
So who is this confused, ambitious girl?
I'm Reilly. I recently graduated college with my bachelor's degree in both history and English literature. In addition, I had minors in both museum studies and non-western studies. Ask me about my degree. I love it with all my heart and I stare at my diploma more than I would care to admit. I'm fairly obsessed with all things Disney and am currently mourning the loss of my Disney College Program. Thanks COVID. I usually have at least one book and one notebook on me at all times, and if I could drink only chai lattes for the rest of my life I would be terribly content.
So, why restart? Why even write a blog? What could I possibly have to say?
All good questions, friend. But I think there's some beauty in not knowing. I think words have a profound magical quality--especially in uncertain times.
So, what does the name of the blog mean? Well, in college, my residence hall was the largest on campus, had the biggest lounge, and often housed all kinds of people on campus. Athletes to film majors to ministry majors to history majors. There was no end to the wide array of souls that entered that space. When I was a freshman, there was someone (who would eventually become a dear friend) that would yell "Welcome to the Lounge" whenever someone entered. Sounds slightly irritating, right? Wrong. Somehow, that greeting became an invitation to come just as you are, to see who you would meet that day, and to feel safe within those walls. My sincerest hope would be that this little blog would encapsulate those feelings.
Who knows where we will go unless we start? So let's start!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet, and welcome to the lounge!
